YAIN is continuously engaging young people in diverse projects to raise awareness on issues affecting youth development.
We believe that achieving a better and sustainable community is the responsibility of all community members. In particular, young people are key players in promoting the ideologies, values and principles of sustainable societies.

Our Projects
GOVERNANCE
On the quest to bring to bare basic issues on governance -youth, people and the government, to the community; we strive to converge young people to share ideas and case studies and learn the rudiments of citizens-government engagement beginning from the process of elections (post, during & post engagements). Our aim therefore, is to bridge the gap to achieve the main essence of #democracy.
ONGOING PROJECT
Defining how youth understand the processes of participation in governance, for instance, be acquainted with electoral laws, pre-elections, during elections and post elections involvement of youth, the need for and how to engage leaders and elected officials to attain accountable leadership, forms the basis of this project. In this context, projects and programs are designed towards basic civic education concepts, how elections drives good governance; enabling approaches to engage elected officials on issues affecting youth growth and development and a space for young people free interact.

1. Voters Education Project
The project is designed to build the capacity of youth to gain deeper understanding about civic education, shared responsibilities of youth in a democracy and enabling platforms to engage elected officials on issues affecting youth growth and development. Read more here

CAPACITY BUILDING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Students Service Day
On February 28, 2014, Young Activists Initiative Nigerian partnered with the Students Union Government, University of Uyo, Nigeria, to host the Students Service Day (SSD). It created an opportunity for students to learn about and exercise volunteerism as an avenue for collective community development. Read more
Students MDGs Campaign Project
The Students MDGs Campaign Project help bridge the gap by teaching young students in high schools to understand deeply the Millennium Development Goals; how these development targets contributes to development of our immediate communities. Understanding their responsibility as young people towards achieving the MDGs, they also learn advocacy skills to engage leaders and push for the achievement of the MDGs. Read more
Volunteering for Change (GYSD)
In commemorating of the Global Youth Service Day, young people were taught the idea of “volunteering for Change”. From tree-planting to visit to orphanages, the youths were engaged voluntarily for the project. Read more
Youth and Cybercrime Forum
Owing to the high rate of youths involvement in negative cyber activities in Nigeria, this Forum was hosted in collaboration with Microsoft Internet Safety, Security and Privacy Initiative for Nigeria (MISSPIN) and Paradigm Initiative Nigeria. Read more
Kick-Out Poverty Rally
It is our core believe that young people are able and capable of contributing to end poverty starting from their communities and actions they take at present. This rally therefore, staged to sensitize youths and encourage them to become the change. Read more

Collaborates with Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), Akwa Ibom State to create awareness among young people on the HIV/AIDS scourge, it causes, living with HIV, and prevention methods. Read more
